Ok, it's -20 for daytime highs and -36 at night and I can't find the plug in for the headbolt heater. The manual shows where but for the life of me I haven't seen it. It's listed on the dealer sticker so I'm assuming it's installed. Before I look real stupid and call the dealer I thought I'd ask here first.
You're not the only one !
Most have a hard time finding it the first time !
On my 03 6.0L X it was behind the grill on the passenger side of the truck...
VERY HARD to see since
it is a black grounded 3 wire receptacle pointing down,
wrapped in black tape and
zipped tied to a black wire loom just in front of the passenger side of the radiator....
Have seen pics posted on here or on ford-trucks.com...
do a search for block heater...
And remember if you release it, be sure to tie it back down before driving... the wind flopping that thing around will beat up your radiator !
Mine was also on the passenger side to the left of the tow hook but right of the fog light between the bumper and the radiator. Never did get the second tie strap cut since it was just a bit below zero and my rear was turning into a skating rink. Got it enough to plug in for the night.
