56' F100 heater ?

Hey All - Has anyone seen this particular heater in any of the 56' F100's? This is the heater that's in my truck and I'm trying to find out if it's stock or dealer extra item. I've searched the forum and also online and can't find any pics of this particular one. There is a chance that it also might be a stock 50's car heater.
Any help would be appreiated
Jacquie

Well, I don't believe it was a factory installed heater for the 56 truck - it may be dealer installed or aftermarket.

The factory installed heater most normally found in the 56 F-100s was the "Magic Air" fresh air heater. Of course there were always exceptions.

Welcome to FTE BTW!

Here is a picture of the standard (recirculating) heater for a '56 Pretty much the same unit '53-'56 The fresh air unit looks a little different. I don't have a picture of the deluxe (fresh air) unit. I have one in my '53 It draws air through the louvers on the passenger side in front of the door. I am not sure but I don't think that ford called them "Magic Air" in the '53 - '56 trucks.
I like the Art Deco look of the heater in your truck.

Thanks to you both for your response. I like the look of the heater too and will be restoring it as best I can. I did some searching again today after my post and found a picture of a 1946 Dodge WC pickup with what looks to be like the same heater in it. My grandpa was the original owner of this truck and a true "ford" guy so I think it must be some sort of aftermarket heater. I can't see him putting anything but ford parts in it otherwise.
