Probably a typo but a pyrometer measures EGTs. So when you say "must have all 3" are you saying "Transmission temperature, Pyrometer, & Boost"?

Lots of smart folks here but I honestly still have problems wrapping my mind around the need for a boost gauge. I appreciate all the comments on the topic.

I bought my gauges online after doing a lot of $ comparisons. I did pyro, boost and volt- no tranny since I only tow a MasterCraft tow boat. I bought the AutoMeter Sport Comp series. I purchased the pod online from MotorHaven. I searched and compared for hours and those dealers had the best prices. MotorHaven gives you a color-matched pillar pod for less $ than any others I have found. The parts came in just yesterday, and look great. I'll install them in the next week or two if I can stay off the slopes. Tranny temp is recommended if you tow a large trailer. Google is a great place to start your search if you want to look for yourself- just enter keywords such as “ford diesel performance”, or “ford diesel gauges”. Good luck!

Had you called Motorhaven the rep would have been happy to price match on the gauges as well, saving the cost of shipping twice.

I liked the AutoMeter gauges better- personal preference. Not available at the haven as far as I can tell. The pod was still cheaper with shipping than at RPM. Can't wait to install them- anyone know if the pod is a direct replacement for the a-pillar or if it goes over it? I didn't see any fastener slots on the back of the pod- wonder how it is held in... I'll find out. Perhaps I'll just duct tape it to the post; maybe use some bailing wire too... After all, I am an FAA certified Airframe and Powerplant Aircraft Mechanic. Maybe I’ll try some RTV...
