Does anyone know what is the largest tire that can be put on a stock susp. and rims without rubbing. I will be adding a spacer in the front to help a little but i just want the biggest tire i can get without going to a lift.
295s will work just fine. The 305s would also clear, but not sure if they are appropriate for stock width rims. I know some guys have put 315s on stock, but that is way to big for the 7" rim. But 315 do rub in tight turns with any suspension compression also. Now in the above statement, I'm assuming you have heavy service or better front springs (V rated). Lower rated springs may cause the 305s to rub in certain situations.
Ford dealers can handle speedo recalibration for 285s (costs about $60 or so), anything bigger takes more effort on their part as the programming must be fooled a little to correct for larger tires. Some dealers will not do anything larger than 285 tires.
