Work begins!!!

I just had to share my excitement with someone, as most of you know, my wife is truly excited for me, so I thought I would get something sincere from you guys...lol. I got the front end off and pulled the engine saturday and I am fixing to tear it apart and clean it up. I am doing a complete frame up resto on her. I have some pics of her on my gallery, and will have updates soon, maybe today as it is pretty cold outside. Anyway, thanks for listening!!!

Cory, are you poking fun at your wife or us??? Oh.........never mind, I get it now....

Thanks for sharing the picts. I've never seen a 6 torn apart and your shots answer a lot of questions. It appears that the motor mounts on the frame are in the same location. By putting the brackets on the engine at about the #2 cylinder, they're about the same distance from the bell housing as the V8's.

Were the fender braces bolted to the same place as the radiator? It looks like they were mounted in the same place as the V8's which would be much easier to mount with the 6 config. The 8's make you mount the fender braces in the same holes as the radiator mount.

One last thing.........how cold can it be in OK? It got all the way up to -5F in nw Montana today. Gotta go throw another log on the fire...........

Hey Tim, the fender braces are bolted on about 2 inches behind (towards the cab) the radiator bolts.

I it don't sound cold to alot of yall, but it is 18F here this morning with a high nearing 31F. But the wind is blowing about 25 mph. That is dang cold for us...lol

Hey Schoonie, looks like you got a nice one. I just started on my '59 (Jan. 1) too! Doesn't it feel great to get started?!

I just came in from taking the bed off. It was chilly up here in MO too. When I moved the truck in it was 7 degrees but the 223 fired up and ran on the second try! Too bad it was frozen to the ground though!

Good luck and I enjoyed the pics.

Hey daddyo! I'm a little north of you here in central Kansas....it IS cold, it doesn't matter how you slice it! It's going to be ZERO here tonight...and with the ever-present Kansas 30mph wind, it's gotta be -20!

Good job on the truck! I'm slowly getting mine spruced up some too, as time allows. Nevermind the money, there's never any of that!

Yes Glasspack, it feels ggrrreat to finally be making some progress.
Your right Sixoh, no matter how you cut it, it is cold out there, it is 8 right now, with about a 20mph wind.
I am hoping to have the money to have the engine done in a couple of months...lol
