can anybody tell me if the speedometer cable came through the firewall and connected to the trans.1956 ford truck . it does not look just right comming through thr firewall.

On my 54 it just came through the firewall

On my 56 F100 (not stock) I purchased a new cable to connect to the C4 trans and routed it with the emergency cable that comes into the cab at the front left side of the removeable trans cover. I used black wire ties to hold it in place with the emerg. cable until it goes up to the speedo. Don't know if this helps you or not but another way to route maybe.

Mine comes from the speedometer,thru the top of the firewall, thru a clip mounted about top center of the fire wall, down to a clip under the frame, to trans.
