speedometer cable

speedometer cable
can anybody tell me if the speedometer cable came through the firewall and connected to the trans.1956 ford truck . it does not look just right comming through thr firewall.

On my 56 F100 (not stock) I purchased a new cable to connect to the C4 trans and routed it with the emergency cable that comes into the cab at the front left side of the removeable trans cover. I used black wire ties to hold it in place with the emerg. cable until it goes up to the speedo. Don't know if this helps you or not but another way to route maybe.
