4x4 transmissions
I am building a early model 4x4 truck. and im thinking of installing a later model 302/351w engine and trans.in it. Im willing to go with a automatic or standard. Mounts I can build. But what I need to know is. My front third member and driveshaft runs down the pass. side not the drivers. Does ford have a transmission I can use that,the front drive shaft will be on the pass. side of the truck. Some kind of 5/6 speed standard or overdrive automatic would be great. Or will i have to rely on a trans. adapter. thanks !!!

i would use a e40d trans bolted to a np205 no adapter needed you will need to do some mods to shift linkage to keep it from hitting gm used np205s until 87 with output on passnger side you will also need a stand alone transmisson contol it will also bolt up to 302 and 351 with out mods
