Have a 4 wheel drive truck in my shop, that is lacking a Engine and transmission. What I am in need of is a transmission and transfer case that is made so that the front drive shaft is on the left side of the transmission, facing the front of the truck. NOT on the drivers side. What year did ford build a transmission/and transfer case like this? Most I have seen have the driveshaft under the driver. But I can't use it because my front third member is on the other side not the drivers side. THANKS !!
You might need to get a chevy t-case to bolt behind the tranny. Red Dodges and Jeeps had the diffs on both sides the later ones have it on the driverside and the early ones like the 80's have it on the passenger side.
Even chebbie has gone to driversides driveshafts but find a transfer case from a dodge or chev from the 70s or 80s, and bolt it to your trans if you are using a manuel, but if auto then might have to redrill align holes in the adapter for the align pins to be right (not sure about the redrill but it might just bolt up)
