I saw a show on TV about cleaning fuel injectors by hooking up a pressurized can of cleaner using a hose and guage directly to the fuel rail. They said the kit costs about $70. Does anyone know where I might buy a kit like that? I tried my local auto parts store with no luck. Please help.
I just had my 87 Ranger's 2.9v6 serviced at a local repair shop. They had a machine called a "MotorVac" that they hooked up to my fuel rail. This machine then injects a detergent/gas mix that cleans out carbon in the engine. It cleans carbon from everywhere your gas goes. It cost $100.00 and took three hours. I found out from my local Napa dealer who had sold this "MotorVac" system to the shop. Go to www.motorvac.com to read more.
