overload on each side. Squats about 2 1/2-3". Handles just fine
and got plenty of power for it. I've also had that weight plus
a 1400 pound car hauler and a 77 F-150 supercab 8'box on it.
Still did the job.
Funny thing is, I've also done the exact same thing with a 73
light half ton Chevy with 276,000 plus miles on it repeatedly.
That truck was a little squirley to drive though.
Just depends on how big your cajonies are.

Nissan Pathfinder,Dodge Cummins.
If a tinker toy with a V-6 can out perform a Cummins, then Cummins ain't squat. The only thing the F-250 had on the GM's was 2" of ground clearance.

fire truck??I would tend to believe the people who buy emergency vehicles may know a thing or two about reliability.

Now that I'm wound up..we have a fleet of early 90s to 2000 bow tie products where I work.We have 5 Tahoe/Suburbans.I have not been to our repair facility this week but I'm willing to bet that one of them is on the rack as we speak. They go through fuel pumps and brakes at a unbelievable rate.We also have about 10 1/2,3/4 and 1 ton bow tie trucks. The gas runs are always having fuel injection problems and burn oil.The diesels are gutless, oil burning, hard starting, overheating junk. The ones we hang snow polws on have variety of front end problems and eat front tires for lunch. We also have a variety of body and trim problems, such as door handles(inside and out) that come off in your hand, bodys that crack around the door hinges, sagging doors, hoods that buckle, windows that fall off of the track ,electrical and gauge problems etc.
We also have some astro vans and s-10s and they are even worse. We have a 97 S-10 up against the fence that needs a new engine and trans at 98K. They are going to auction it instead of fix it.
I work for a small municipality and I can tell you these "trucks"
are not abused and they are serviced regulaly. Our new fleet manager
was appaled at how much the bow ties cost to keep on the road.We just got 3 2003 Dodge diesels and one of them is mine.I will say it has plenty of power, but talk about LOUD! It has 324 miles on it and it just stated to have some kind of rattle in the drivers door.We are anxously waiting for the 3 PSD we ordered.I can't wait.(For some reason the fleet, manager is just not interested in trying out a duramax

I currently have a '091 V-10 SD with 25K on it and as expected have had zero problems,a 91 Explorer with 140K on it and have had to put brakes on it twice and replace a leaky valve cover gasket.
I have gone through my 76 F-250 4x4 from one end to the other as a hobby, but it was still going strong at 240K with one engine replacement. My 68 Bronco at 102K still has the original 289 and the first time the valve covers were off was when I put chrome ones on it.
Personaly,I think I'll stick with FORD products, thank you very much
I have a 1970 C-600 with 287k miles on a 361, with a 48 foot aerial lift and a 4 yard chip box that tows a Bandit 200+xp. Stilllllll going...........
I also have a 78 bronco with a 351m and about 233k miles....... stilllllll going.......
Blue oval has my vote !!!!

But over all the truck is a worker, will haul a load, and frequently comes out of the local sand and gravel site over 16,000 pds, and handles it well.
When the truck has that kinda weight on it, it does'nt even look like it does, ( not like other brands
), no issues with bent frames either, as stated above,,,God I love Ford's He,,He
