360 rebuild kits?

so does that mean if the piston is 1.69" then its too big?

360 rebuild

78, if the piston were 1.69 tall, that would give you a perfect 0 deck height using Rat's example. But if the dirt cheap 299$ rebuild kit seemed exspensive, you may not want to be thinking about swapping cranks. Why is it you believe the 360 needs a rebuild ? You might be able to freshen up the 360 with a valve job and a bigger oilpump and be just fine for quite awhile. No, it wouldn't be 390, and it might not be 'perfect', but it might be easier on the wallet. DF

I just bought a 74 F250 with the orignal 360 with over 2500K on it and as of right now its all tore apart and in the bed still in good shape but i figured i would rebuild it before asembly so it would be fresh. thank you

The pistons that come with Larry's are 1.66 or 1.68" (410 pistons?) making them work with the 360 rods. Ask before you buy. The 360 rods may not be as "beefy" as a 390 but I doubt your going to rev it above 5500 rpm's for extended periods of time. If you are, then invest in some more parts. I think the kit was well worth the money. You get out of the engine what you put into it....

No im not going to be doing any high reving the highest will be on the freeway at about 80mph and that will only be every once in a while. most of the time ill prolly be in eightier 1st or 2nd gear on the back roads. thank you for all of your help I appreciate it.
