outside temp reading wrong

I have a 2000 Excursion limited v10. The overhead console with the outside temp, mpg, and compass works fine except the temp reading is wrong-- sometimes by 10-12 degrees, sometimes by 20-30 degrees. It seems to want to hover around 60-65
degrees (F). Any ideas how to fix? Where is the outside temp sensor located ? Thanx

The sensor is located behind the front grill. It is the thing on the driver's side. You can see it by looking through the grill. It is about 3-4 inches high, cylindrical and kinda almost pointy on top. Anyway...it is easily replaced.

A computer reset may help. Just unhook your battery for 15 minutes.

No, I havent. It seems that when the real cold snap ended, it started to work fine. Have not had any trouble with it since
