Since an EEC-IV is not flashable, how and more appropriately where does the EEC-IV's store the new parameters to adapt to my driving style?
P.S.
I've searched the forum using the word "adaptive", got 2 hits, then tried for the next 10 minutes to do a search on other words, but kept getting server too busy msg.
It's called the KAM (keep alive memory). If you change or alter your tps setting, or say change o2 sensors, you need to disconnect the battery for approx 10 minutes. Then reconnect, drive the vehicle for different distances, so the computer can learn the new settings. Sometimes that can be as little as 30 minutes, other times it can take up to 4 days before the computer learns everything.
Ps the EEC-IV is a learning computer. Just out of curiosity, what type of computer do you have? IE, A9l, A9P, etc?
I recommend turning on the headlight switch as well when disconnecting the battery. If it takes more than 50 miles to re-adapt, try a few key cycles (turning it off, turning it on and driving again).
