In snow that had been iced over, I had to get out at 6 in the morning to go feed horses about a 10 miles away. I got there just fine, the way back was a little different. On the way back after getting stuck once (because of stupid people who cannot drive in snow) I had to build up some speed to get up the hill by my house, well I took the turn too fast and I ended up going into a fence. I got the humiliation of getting pulled out by a Suburban too.
Slashed a tire, some body damage and something with the stearing, I barely got it home. I havnt really had time to go look at it. I'm never going to own a 2wd truck again.
hey man...that musta really sucked. hope u didnt mess up ur truck too bad. i remember one day going to school in winter, well the roads were snow with ice under em and i came into the parking lot. i hit the brakes and they just locked up. ended up hitting some bolts sticking out of a circuit breaker on the wall i parked next too. i dont know why they were there but because of those bolts i put a couple nice dents in my hood.
Well, at least you only hit on one end. Years ago I was driving over Snoqualmie Pass in Washington. As I neared the summit I saw a nice Studebaker Hawk which had nosed in down the embankment on the left side (must have spun out). Anyhow, the driver was giving it hell in reverse and hanging his head out the window. yelling at the two guys in front that were pushing for all they were worth. As I approached the Stude started making some headway (actually backway). Ever so slowly it started moving back toward the highway. I should mention that the highway was relatively free of snow but both sides had lots of snow. Anyhow, as soon as the rear tires touched the pavement that Stude shot across the highway like 60! You guessed it - right down the embankment on the other side of the highway! So, it could be worse.

I was driving my expedition the other day through an empty parking lot, and I came up on the turn out of it, and hit the brakes. I didn't realize how icy it was, and there was a light duting of snow, and the truck didn't stop. It went right into a snowbank, and missed a pole by 4 feet. I got a little worried, cause I was used to driving my little car, and if you hit a snowbank, you're stuck in that one. But, I popped it into reverse and backed right out. After I got out of the snow, I got out, and there was 1/2 inch of ice across the pavement. My friend got out, and we were looking at the truck, no damage, and then when I went to get back in, I slipped and fell right on my butt. I love that truck. If I wasn't able to get it out in A4WD, I would have put it in 4lo and backed right out. 4WD rocks!!
I wish that it just would of gotten body damage, I moved it a little while ago to park it in my driveway, and woah something is really wrong with that truck I could hardly steer it, the wheel's all slanting in, this really sucks consitering I only hit at about 10-15 mph at max. You wouldn't think that much of damage could come to it. Oh well...
If it costs more than 1500 to repair, I'm gonna give it away to charity and buy a different truck, something with a four wheel drive. It's more just a major inconvienance to me.

Snoqualmie Pass. Had many "experiences" on that one. Had a buddy who decided to get married to (we all thought) somone he shouldn't get married to. My stepmother in Yakima said "Take him to Seattle, get him drunk and don't bring him back until after the "wedding" so he would miss it. We managed the first part OK (I was 18 at the time), unfortunately he could drink me and my best friend under the table without too much effort. He drove my 55 Ford back over Snoqualmie while we were "not responding". That was in 1966, and as far as I know, he is still married. I still feel sorry for him!
