2002 SD Tailgate Rated for 100lbs !?
My guess is that the metal skin is only rated for the 100 lbs. I've been loading my ATV all summer and haven't had a problem. I have noticed a little bump in the middle tailgate were the plastic cover goes over the lip and the skin is bent up a little. I guess I might look into a tailgate more seriously like I had thought of before I bought it. Oh yeah, I don't know about the SD but my dad's '90's tailgate will hold a 55 gallon barrel of oil, I haven't had guts enough to haul barrels of oil in mine yet though to test it.
