It's cold here...lows in 30's, highs only in low 60's. Anyways, my book shows that to be a straightforward, drop -out-the-bottom deal. Maybe it's more like the Aeor where you have to pull the shock and spring to get it out. It would be nice to see a pic. Try putting one in your gallery.
I don't know what to tell you, that's why I waited so long to respond. All I can say is to move that oil filter thing ( maybe just unbolt and move it) . Hopefully someone that has done this will jump in.
Good to hear. I've never done a rack on one of those but, they are never very easy. Seems the engineers figured they wouldn't be worked on very often so I guess access wasn't a concern. Your wife is more patient than mine. (she'd be out there supervising me) doesn't like it when her veh is down.
caseys- You said in your initial post that your Explorer had "morning sickness". What is that? I think I may have it. The steering seems to lock, and then release. It doesn't lock completely, but seems to stop and then catch up. Makes driving a curve a scary thing first thing in the morning. This seems to go away after driving for a while. Mine is also a 96 AWD.
casey, I got lucky. I had just purchased this 96Expl. and so I went back to the dealer, and he helped me out. We "shared" the cost. My half was only $190. I guess I did OK. It drives great now. Thanks for your input.
