For me, clearance lights are the difference between fitting and not fitting in my local car wash.

and with night blindness.. can not drive after dark. that is how I Lost my "CDL"

 

They are required on vehicles 8" or wider front and also the 3 in the rear that stock dually trucks have . On 18 wheelers they are there to indicate that the vehicle is 102" or wider also front and rear .

I like the look of the lights and it makes the truck more visible especially when I'm plowing.
