I've got a dually with 4X4 and 4.10 in the punkin and My best yet on MPG is 20.5 on the interstate doing about 60 which runs me around 1950 RPM with a 4R100 auto trans. Loaded I get about 14 pulling my 31' TT anywhere. No complaints. However when I got this massive truck.. the last thing I was worried about was MPG. I would have bought a minitruck like the yota's if that were my concern.

19 or better lately with a mix of highway and around town. Some stop and go traffic. With the 410 rear I've got to keep below 70 mph (2600 rpm) to keep the truck efficient. Averaged about 11 going across country pulling a 20 ft trailer and weighing in @ 18000 lbs truck trailer and cargo. The truck loved it! It whimpers without a load these days.

Man those are some awfully good numbers posted. I have a 2000 4x4 crew cab, and normal everyday driving I only get about 13-14. I only have 285 BFG's on there, I have no change in the mileage since I went up a size in tires, and have tried to drive hard, soft, grandparent like and makes little difference in my truck.

I get around 16 from the farm to town and doing some in town driving. If I drive on the interstate and keep it under 2000rpm's, it has gotten near 19. 3:73 gears and it's a 4 wheel drive with single rear wheels. It's also pure stock.
I think the key is. keep it under the 2000rpm range. Have not pulled anything with it yet but I would expect it to run in the 10 to 12 range out of over drive..there again, I've exceeded the 2000rpm range.

I'm lucky if I hit 13-14MPG on the Highway and 10-11MPG loaded. I have a 97 F250 4X4 and 3.55 gears. If you look around, I'm not the only one that has this problem. Supposedly, you will get better mileage from 3.55 gears since you are pulling lower RPM's. At 70 mph, I'm hitting around 1750 - 1800 RPM's. I really envy those that are getting over 18.

Expect from 15 to 19 mpg, normal unloaded driving with some stop & go, on your truck. You will get high and low answers but this is average. Depends on fuel grades, what season (winter, summer), fuel additives, how fast you drive, idle times, driving type, terrain, and the list goes on & on for anything exact. Don't expect 20 or more when you buy your truck. Estimate on lower side for $ calculations so you are not disappointed if it doesn't meet expectations. Ask private owner or get the title info and call previous owner for mpg and any "quirks" first for used. Good luck with your future truck.
Mine is ~ 17 to 17.5 ish so far.

To all the guys running larger then stock tires. Remember this effects you speedo and odometer readings. I have 315/75's and the circumference is close to 10% more then the stock tires. Unless you have you truck recalibrated you need to add 10% (for 315's)to your trip meter to calculate the true MPG. You may be getting better economy then you think.
I get about 17 with a mix of city and interstate driving. A little less if I feel the need to hear the turbo sing alot. What a sweet sound it is. Auto with 3.73 gears.

The leveling kit was on the truck when I purchased it. Stock trucks dont sit level. The rear is up like a stinkbug. This is not a problem with 265's but inf you increase your tire size the fronts will rub. The leveling kit lifts only the front end about 3" and helps with this problem (does not cure with 315's) and I think improves the truck appearance as well. The truck sits level with about the same amount of distance between tire and fender.
You can get a spring lift or I believe you can do it with blocks and longer U bolts. Mine is a additional leaf spring. Not sure what they go for but it cant be that bad.
Hey Quad;
who did you speedo recalibration and how much $? Did it change your shift points? Would you recommend having it done?
