I have a 1997 F-350 4x4. Bone stock with 235/85 tires. Last weekend I got 19.7 mpg running 74 mph up the interstate. I have 3.73 gears and kept it at about 2000 rpm's. On the way home I only got about 12.5 mpg because I was pulling a boat and I wanted to hear the turbo sing and roll out a little black smoke. Probably could've done a little better if I kept it down around 70 mph the whole way back.
I have never used any kind of "fuel additive" before.this is my first Diesel engined truck.had a 2000 F-250 SD Crew,LB,XLT,w/V-10 gas engine.really hated to sell it.never gave me a problem.even after all of the intake-exhaust upgrades i did. just needed to have something that got better mileage when commuting,or towing my 22' Jetboat.
Does this stuff really work? and you use some in every tank fill? are there any other things out there that help mileage, other than the obvious intake-exhaust-software upgrades? I'm a diesel new comber.any help would be greatly appreciated.I am getting 16 m.p.g. right now.would be nice to increase it by 2+.thanks

I've gotten anywhere from 14.26 to 21.19 depending on speed and elevation gain/loss. My tuck is an '02 PSD crew cab F250 and it''s bone stock for now. I still have the original 265/75R16 Firestone Steeltex AT's (41,000 miles and still wearing great). When I was in a hurry and drove 75 mph for a tank I got the 14.26. The 21.19 was last night going from Las Vegas to Central Nevada with a total elevation gain of 4000 feet and driving 65 mph the whole way. I did actually get 23.5 once. It wasn't downhill and in neutral but it was pretty close so I don't really count it. I'm using CRC Diesel Fuel Therapy Fuel Injector Cleaner with Anti-Gel plus additive.
I purchased my truck in Bozeman, Montana and the first tank going from Bozeman towards Boise, Idaho I got 17 mpg. Since, I have not seen better than 15.5. Both highway and city driving. Lots of people claim better mileage but considering its size, I am happy with with I get.
02 F250 CC and around town I get around 16.5 in stop and go and if it is more open around 17 mpg. Open road (4 lane not many stops holding about 55-65) the truck will give me about 18.5 and the interstate at about 65 (around 1800 rpm) the milage is around 19.4. The best I have ever seen was 22 on the interstate with the speed held at about 60 mph.
I drive my truck as a commuter car and haul only occasionally. When hauling it got about 14 with a 5000 TT hooked on at about 65 or 70.
