I wanted to see if anyone else is experiencing the same problems I have had. I bought my 03 Expy in July 03. Started hearing the rattling noise from the side molding and all the windows rattled. I took it back in and they replaced the window units and seals (Sep 03). They have a service message about the body molding #17084 with no fix. (Oct 03) same problem and they replaced the window units/seals again. (Nov 03) Clutch pads on tranny were cut/burned and so they overhauled the tranny. As I would start off the gears would slip. I had a grinding noise that I thought was coming from the front, but they found that it was from the rear end and replaced a halfshaft and repacked the rearend. Well, this is Dec 03 and my windows still rattle and the tranny is slipping again. My doors have been adjusted so much that they have to be slammed to shut. Texas has a lemon law statute and I am considering filing. I have about 6250miles on this expy. Any suggestions?
you have the same symptoms as many of us with 03's have--maybe a little worse. I also live in Tx and don't think you have a case for the lemon law, but I am not sure. I thought the lemon law in TX said that the truck must be in the shop for the same repair more than 3 times in a given period. A buddy of mine tried this with his toyota when it was in the shop 11 times in 8 months for 11 different things and got nowhere.
I own a 03' expy bought in june 03 in texas with the same rattle problems. They kept my car for 2 days and "fixed" the rattles they said. They applied foam tape to the rear inside quarter panels and readjusted the door strike plates. Stll sounds like crap. I have to have the stereo on to keep from going crazy. I found that there is also too much window howl on the highway (70-80 mph) and a rattle in the drivers door. I thought it was the outside rocker panels on the eddie baur trim but found a loose window. Interestingly, I discovered the window was loose by having the window cracked open 1/2 way down and hearing the window vibrate. Try it out and let me know if others have excessive highway noise, esp when there's a cross wind.
