brake problem, HELP
of truck. Pads had normal wear, nothing serious. I have done this
hundreds of times so I'm a beginner. I left the system closed,
used C-clamps to compress calipers. Since changing pads the truck
pulls to the right when I hit the brakes. Its bad enough that I got
to do something about it. Have gone over and over trying to figure
out what I've done wrong. Have bled the system at the calipers, front
and back. Have replaced both brake hoses from tubing to caliper. Had the right rotor turned. Have had both calipers off several times and]
see nothing wrong. Any suggestion? Thanks
on the left caliper, the slide is clean and smooth
can not believe that is the problem. I pulled left
caliper, pressed the brake pedal, have good travel
on both pistons but have no way of knowing the amount
of force being applied. Ordered a new caliper today
should be here Tues. Hope that solves the problem
but have my doubts. Brakes were working fine before
I replaced the pads so what the heck did I do to cause
this malfunction? Thanks
the rotor was glazed and the new pads just couldn't get a bite.
had them both turned an problem went away. But now i take some medium grit sand paper and scuf them up before installing new pads ,this after doing a rotor runout chk of course, looking for warpage.

Just another thought on your procedure you may have caused an unbalanced situation by pushing back on the caliper pistons with out releasing the
bleeder screw to drain of the pressure.
have you tried bleeding as decribed in the manual for abs brakes?
some special procedure
also if you get to much force invovled in pushing back the pistons you can dislodge the o-rings inside
so the piston doesn't return as smoothly.
Just a couple thoughts
