Anyone have any experience with excessive wind turbulence caused by bug deflector? Wiper arms are chattering and hood even seems to move. This is a company truck with a roof mount antenna for company. Antenna whistles alot also. Did not drive truck without bug deflector but am assuming this is problem.
I had on the Ford low profile and am having problems with hood vibrations. I took it off today and took it out on the highway. Hit 100 with very little movement. Will leave it off for a while and see what happens. I noticed on a very windy day at highway speeds with the deflector on, the back of the hood would move up and down about a quarter of an inch. I will let you know if removing it helps.
Hmmm, the guys on the other site seem to think the low profile one from Ford Accessories did not have the problem, thanks for letting us know that may not be the case.
I guess this truck is meant to not have a bug shield for now.
Well, I have had the Ford low profile off for a day and no hood movement. It was also windy, which is when it was the worst with the bug shield. The only thing I can think of is that the shield was creating a low pressure area above the hood, causing it to move up and down at the back. Just like an airplane wing.
