Here's a couple of observations and opinions on the interior of my F-150, Lariat S-cab.Storage in the center console lift up can be bigger, the glove compartment is just what it says, for gloves (1 pair) and maybe the users manual, that overhead storage flip down area is for what?sunglasses?,not much more.Come on Ford, you made the truck a helluva lot bigger outside for some reason, so how bout being a little bit more generous on the sizes inside. (GMC can do it). Also, the three buttons for the info center cannot be seen for access at all by the driver with the steering wheel/column shifter in the way, can't we find a better place for these buttons even though they are seldom used? Finally, the instrument/guage lighting package on the Lariats needs to be changed, green numbers on black with red pointers is little gaudy, white numerals on black I think is more eye appealing and gives a better contrast for viewing.Oh yeah, and soften up the seats a bit too. Any comments group?
(sorry, just had to vent)
i think you might be the first critic of the new f-150 interior....read any mag and they have nothing but good things to say about it....and i for one think its great on the two trucks i've driven so far.
You sound like you bought a lot of stuff you don't like. You should have purchased the XL package and saved yourself a lot of money. You would not have as much to complain about either.
Don't know this guy but I would say TROLL, with his GMC CAN DO IT comment makes me think he is just one of those Ford Bashers. I love my 04 F 150 and think all of the points he made are pointless and it was just to rile up the troups, you know some people are not happy without a fight going on.
Well, Sorry will I went and searched out all your posts, poor fella, if I were you I would sell that POS you have! And go back to your Trusty 02 GMC Sierra, I looked at ALL 27 of your posts to date and ALL BUT ONE was negative and I think the one is semi negative.... If i was that unhappy I would trade it off....
Okay boys, back off. I am not a Ford basher at all! I have owned 5 Ford trucks in the last 18 years and was always very happy and impressed with them (otherwise I wouldn't keep buying them, right?)In late 2001 into '02 it was time for a change and Ford had really nothing going on so I decided to give GMC a try.Yeah I have been basically satisfied with it if you can ignore the cheapness of their interior components and fit/finish but still it was time to get back into Ford quality after a little less than 2 years in the GMC.I feel my observations are constructive suggestions to Ford to keep up their quality and be attentive to design and functionality so we don't have to keep hearing about Tundra/Titan superior quality.(hey bruuce,or is that 4 u's?, troups is spelled "troops"and NO,this was not to start a fight at all!)
Wilbur I am sure your perfect and have an excellent command of the english language and never spell anything wrong, but who cares. I am just saying EVERY post you make is negative about the f150, maybe you should have stayed with the GMC because you sure don't seem to be happy with the truck you got.
Just wondering did you by any chance test drive or look in one before you ordered it?
for me, the interior on the lariat was a bit much. from the wood trim to the white/gold instruments. so, i went with the fx and am very happy with the interior and of course the truck overall. it all comes down to personal taste.
Jeesh, take it easy on this guy. Everyone has their own opinion and is entitled to it. I bleed blue but I have to agree with will's points on constructive criticism. The storage could be a little bigger and the menu buttons are hard to see and utilize while driving. However, I think the gauges are a perfect color package which makes them even more distinctive and I complained about the captains chairs early on but after 8000 miles they are the most comfortable seats I have driven in.
I can't believe how defensive guys get about a truck, I mean, think about it.
This guy is just giving his opinion and it's feedback similar to this that Ford should be paying attention to.
I agree, the standard overhead rail storage for a pair of Sunglasses doesn't seem to be a big deal at all, I think it could have been one larger, better laid out compartment.
Can I add to this? Today I drove a new xlt F-150 4/4. 1st time.
Last week I ordered my new F-150. 4/2 xlt.
The Misses' and I sat there a long time going over things as we are both in these trucks all the time working.
Seats, pushes up on the sides of my butt and I ain't fat there.LOL
Her seat ok but, the book work is not going to fit in side door pouch and a good size appoint book either door is going to be in the way of the window cranks. Stupid little screen said needs gas and then don't show you the milage/maby I needed to push some button?
Stearing wheel tilt. Copied from John Deere? For me sterring had to be just right or I could not see guages/speedo.
Now all that said I still can't wait for mine. It's a truck it ain't perfect.
As to turning, power, quiet cab and ride wellllll that was a real ride today. I can live with all the above but some of what has been said here is true and more so for some than others.
Again folks I learned alot here but don't forget we be talking about trucks.
