Hydro Assist Steering - Need Help
Alright guys, I am looking for information about the hydro assist steering used on 72 to 77 trucks.
I bought this setup from a local wrecking yard, and I would like to put it on my 1985 Ranger that I put on full size axles.
I got the complete setup, mine was from a 1981 Van, and I think I have everything I need.
Does anyone know this well? I would like to adapt it to my truck. I have photos, and I could show anyone who would like to see what I am working with.
I would need a theory of operation, fluid capacities and type fluid recomendations, plus application notes if anyone knows this system.
I pretty much don't know anything about it, so the more you guys know, the more it helps me!
Thanking you in advance,
Adam

However, if I can use it between the tie rod and the axle tube, it should work well here to reduce slack from the steering system.
Does anyone know about it? How it works, etc? I need some intrinsic knowledge about this setup to see about adapting it to my rig.
Thanks,
Adam
