Wedding went smoothly, no mishaps except everyone forgot about the wedding cake until about an hour before the ceremony.
Lots of fun was had by all.
We cleaned up on the gifts, though. We got a flatscreen TV from my best man, a Sony digital camera from my brother, a 6 piece Swiss Gear luggage set from my sister, and a honeymoon from my mom, and approximately $5000.00 in CASH!!! from everyone else. We also got the regular gifts like cutlery and crystal glasses etc.
Honeymoon was awesome. Arrived in LAX looking at everyone else all bundled up like it's cold outside, and we're happy to be wearing just T-shirts. When the sun went down though, it got cold. Did Disneyland for 5 days, went on a Star Homes tour, bought Christmas presents for everyone back home, and a 256 MB Memory Stick for our camera for less than $100 US. Up here a 128MB is $70. Canadian. So, that would be $140 for 2, plus 14.5% tax ... so it was cheaper to get it down there.
Back on track now, we got on Royal Carribean (sp?) Vision of the Seas and cruised to Cabo San Lucas, Mazatlan and Puerto Vallarta before finally coming home last week, on the 21st. I don't think I would go to Cabo again, but Mazatlan and Puerto definitely. More than once I hope. We had fun at Senor Frog's in Mazatlan, and the ZOO in Puerto Vallarta. Also in Puerto, we rented ATV's for about 3 hours and they took us on a tour of some nearby villages, and a tequila factory.
The actual cruise ship was nice also. The food was great, and there was lots of it. Lots of young, good looking, single females for anybody wondering. Drinks were a bit pricey though. $3.50 for a Corona, and that's all I would drink. Special mixed drinks in a souvenir glass approached 10 bucks.
Then, on the 19th, we're checking my hotmail account, and find out we have a new niece. The wife was a bit sad since we're stuck on a boat, with no way of getting home, but figured it's probably better because everyone would be wanting to see the baby all at the same time. We met our new niece when we got home.
As for Christmas, we got more money, and some gift certificates to Home Depot, so we got some laminate flooring from Ikea, and a compound miter saw for me from Home Depot, and went at it on the dining room floor. The floor turned out pretty good. From Ikea, we also got a new dining table and chairs, and a china cabinet for our new crystal glasses, and other assorted wedding gifts.
Today, my wife is at work doing inventory with her other coworkers. It's her first day back since the 4th. I've been back to work 3 times already.
For New Years, we're probably going to finally relax a little, and have a quiet night by ourselves, unless something comes up that can't be turned down.
Well, enough about me, sorry about the length, but how have you people been?
