I have a 93 bronco and I was wondering if I towed it with the front tires on a dolly and tranny in netual would I do any damage to the tranny and transfer case if I keeped the drive shafts connected? Also would it rack up the mileage? Does anyone know if the odometer is mechanical or electronic & where is located?
If it's a manual, either the tranny or the case in neutral is fine. If it's an automatic, you will fry the tranny unless you put the transfer case in neutral. It doesn't matter what the transmission is in that case.
Best thing to do would be to disconnect the driveshaft. It's only 4 bolts then slide the yoke out of the transfercase. Of if you don't wanna slide it outta the X-fer case and loose all your fluid, then you can just secure the driveshaft out of the way somewhere.
