I have a 1981 F-150, run great, everything works except the windshield washer. The motor don't make a sound when wiper switch is pressed. There is no fuse for it marked on the fuse box cover. Does anyone know how to check it out?

The easiest way to test it would be to use a test light...unhook the wiring plug at the pump, hook the alligator clip of the test light onto a good ground and then stick the other end of the test light (the sharp pointy end) into one of the holes in the plug and have someone push the button for the washer fluid.. if it does not light up.. try probing the other wire in the plug end and have someone push the button again. one of these wires should have power..if not then the problem is in the wiring.. if you get one with power then the pump is bad...replace it with a cheap ($15) aftermarket washer pump....

My guess is thatt the pump is bad... good luck..hope that this helps..

 

I had the same problem. I tested my motor andit was good so I checked the wiring. The end of the wiring harness that goes into the motor was shot. I went to a parts truck and got a new one and it worked. I cut maybe 4 inches off and put on the new one. No problems since. Good luck!
