What program can i use to rip a cd to MP3 format so i can store all my music on my laptop for in my truck. cd's are a pain, but i've got tons of music on them and want to use it. I tried a search on yahoo for freeware, but can't seem to find one that works well...any ideas?
This is the program that I use http://download.com.com/3000-2140-10...ml?tag=lst-0-1 . It is a very simple program to use, and its free! It hooks up with the CDDB registry, so you dont have to name youre mp3s, it knows what they are before you rip them. You then extract them to a compressed audio file, and boom! Youre done. I cant say enough good things about that program.
i use real player or real one... the newest free version allows you to choose either mp3 or the real format. i know you have to name the tracks if you're offline when you rip it but i'm not sure if you have to when you're online..i've never tried it..hehe... i use kazaa to download my mp3's...
You must have installed some other MP3 codec. Cause it won't let you rip anything but WMA. I thought that version 7 or 8 let you rip mp3s, but the bitrate was really really crappy. I just checked my version 9, and no go, just wma.
I use a program called Easy CD-DA Extractor. By far, without a doubt, the best ripping program I've seen. And I've used the other ones people have mentioned.
I like musicmatch as a player, but I think it sucks as a ripper. It isn't very flexible.
You all should really give that CDex program a try. At worst, you just delete it from youre system. I searched for a good program for two months, and that was by far the best I have run.
