i got my 85 mustang cap and the tall rotor today, the spacer will be in tommorow, i paid a total of 19 bucks and some change, i went the low budget items way instead of going to the good stuff, that way i wont lose too much if it doesnt fit right.
i got my big cap and new wires all hooked up tonight, sure looks alot better. and seems to run okay, so i guess it was worth it. i didnt go with the 8.5 wires though, they were a little pricey, instead i just got some new 8mm accell ones for 30 bucks. i did have a little contact between the cap and the rotor, but i filed down the edge of the rotor where it was striking the top of the cap and all seems fine now.
FINAL BILL-
CAP, ROTOR, SPACER $19.67
NEW 8MM WIRES $30.00
-----------
TOTAL $49.67
TIME USED - 2 HOURS, had to cut the new plug wires to length
Result - no more crossfiring, looks nice
Seeing the look on the parts counter guys face when i asked for a 85 mustang dizzy cap for my f250---PRICELESS
