Please help the newby. I have an exhaust leak on my 69 360, it looks like it has had home made gaskets (maybe cardboard). The truck has 87k original miles (or so the mechanic who worked on it for the guy I bougth it from says) and a lot of the gaskets may need replaced soon. I can not break the bolts loose. I have soaked them w/wd-40, used a cheater pipe none the less i can not loosen them any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
I've heard that PB blaster is pretty good at freeing rusted stuff. When you do finally get those off.. order yourself a good set of ARP bolts for the motor.
heat the bolts up with a torche, thats always worked for me, just make sure you have water or a fire extinguisher handy just in case, but i have had no problems by useing heat to break them loose while in the truck, its better than breaking them off and haveing to drill them out and tap them.
I just finsihed mines I used good ol brake fliud and worked pretty good get the motor to running temp and out it on there and soak give it a try and .......elstx i have headers on both my trucks play with it you figure out the puzzle.........
