I have, quite often, a delayed shift/engagement into Reverse and Drive. I'd say 3/4 to 1 second. Doesn't happen all the time - which assures me it can't be right.
Seems to be a consensus that a new flash is out January.
As owners I's assume we're all eligible to get the latest flash for free.
Agreed.
I am always looking for BS at the dealer. I was already annoyed with them when I asked about an aux idle control. They treated me like I was an idiot because they never heard about it. After they found it they gave me a jacked price of over $600.
I have had a very strange relationship with my truck (2003 350 6.0). In so far as I have not had any major problems. Not to say that they don't exist. I have just been really lucky.
I have 17,000 on it now. I have driven it from Maine to Florida and back. I have no cold weather starting / power / smoke issues thus far. I do not run any addititve and change oil every 2,000 miles (I want to catch a failing injector early).
I HAVE NOT HAD ANY OF THE FLASH RECALLS DONE!! I strongly recomend what the folks at Gator Ford in Florida recommended to me. Unless you have issues that must be resolved with the flash then wait and see. As far as OASIS can tell me, I have the original flash in my truck from the factory. Why am I so special???
The problems I have had are the following and have all been strictly mechanical:
Failing rear main due to an improperlky installed cover plate on the crank (overheated the main seal causing failure). The infamous bell housing oil leak??
Failed pinion seal onthe rear end diff.
Improperly torqued fuel injectors? Resulting in lube oil contamination with distilate. Required replacement of the turbo charger.
It works now……..I hope
