Thought we had a ghost
That's when we realized that something was going on.
After a while, we decided to just accept that something weird was going on, maybe a ghost, and that as long as it didn't touch us while we were sleeping that we could live with it.
Then one morning I was about to get into the shower in our bathroom next to the guest bedroom, and I heard my German Shepherd walking quietly past the door. I yanked open the door, ran into the guest bedroom, and there he was, my dog with a mouthful of pillow, about to drag it onto the floor. He looked completely shocked as I told him to get upstairs to his bed.
Apparently he'd been waiting until he thought no one was around then he would pull the pillows onto the floor and use them to rest his head on. What a weird dog. We haven't had any more ghostly incidents since I caught him, though.
I so miss having a real dog to share with. Mine is wooden.
Though I never have to clean up his . . accidents, he doesn't tear up the furniture, and I don't have to worry about him when I am called out of town with no notice, I sure miss having someone smarter than me around to discuss things with in person.

P.S. He is a Russian Wolfhound - Jet Black. His coat is so shiny, you could ~swear~ it was Lacquered.
I had a chow/sheperd mix that had her quirks too. One of her favorite games was to go to the far end of the yard, then run full speed across the backyard, make the turn on the patio and jump at the fence gate. It had a lot of spring to it, and she'd just about do a back flip springing off of it!
She also liked to get a mouth full of water, then walk into the livingroom and dribble it all over your legs and feet. Many more fun stories, too many to tell.
