I have a '99 F250 SD with the towing mirrors. I have unfortunately broken the drivers side mirror. A friend gave me a the entire towing mirror from a 2002 model. The bolt patterns match up and they look the same, but the wiring harness plug is different. The 2002 model has a square plug and the '99 has a round plug. Is there an adapter available? Or do I need to just splice the wires? Obviously I am trying to avoid purchasing a '99 mirror $$$. . Any help would be greatly appreciated.
There is an adapter available. I don't know the part number. I ordered the TT mirrors for my 2000, the mirrors came with the adapter. Maybe someone here ordered the TT mirrors for a 2001 or 2002 truck and has the adapters left over???
I'd just solder the wires together. It isn't too hard, for the most part they are somewhat color coded heres a picture of the little adapter.

What did you end up doing on your adaptor for the towing mirrors?
I just bought 2 mirrors for a 2002 F250 CC and they came with a round plug but I need a rectangular plug.
You can't purchase a 99 or 00 trailer tow mirror anymore. Those are fixed in their position. The only type Ford are making now are the telescoping models. I recently had to replace my drivers side TT mirror on my 00, I tried to get a fixed position model like came on the truck but they're not in production any longer. Consequently I have a telescoping mirror on one side and a fixed on the other. No one would probably notice, but it bugs me. I think I'm going to update the passenger side as well. The new mirror came with the adapter. That made the job easy.
