I finally located the PITA and I got the top bolt off. Any ideas on how to get the bottom bolt off? I can feel the head but I can't see it. If I could get the hose off the IAC I think it would be easier to take off the bottom bolt. But that is my second problem--I can't get the hose off! It's about 30F degrees here, would letting the engine warm up make getting the hose off any easier? Any tips or tricks to getting this hose off the IAC? I could really use some help. Thanks!
I used a small 1/4" ratchet with about a 6" extension to get the bottom bolt loose. Then just use the extension to take it out. I was able to get the hose off after the IAC was out. Use a small flat head to seperate it then twist like hell. I actually was given the wrong part from O'reillys and so I just cleaned it real good and put it all back together, so far so good. Good luck, it's a little tougher to put back on btw.
Thanks for the reply. What did you use and how did you clean it? What order did you put things back. Was it easier to atach the hose before or after it was bolted back on? Thanks!
Just spayed carb and choke cleaner in the gummed up area. I was able to reuse the gasket, get the top bolt on first then the bottom. I think I would go ahead and replace it rather than clean it if I were you. They are about $80.00 from the dealer.
I'd work harder at that hose. Much easier after it's off. Just work a screw driver in where u can and twist it. The hose and the screw driver. I got right up and sat on the engine. It was to hard leaning over the engine. I also used a spring clamp to hold the wire loom out of the way.
