What is that little panel with the hook on it for?
The one, if sitting in the drivers seat, is to your right on the lower dash below the radio and heater controls?

Just wondering... I can't believe they put it there for abendx to hang his panty collection from.

I had a guy tell me it is for hanging a trash bag on. Not sure other than that. I've never seen a trash bag hanging on any of them. My wife seems to think it is to hang her purse on.

It's not a dumb question at all. In my 99 SD it was an ashtray, when I got my 02 I yanked and yanked on it before I realized the ashtray was in the cupholders. Duh? Huh? Trimman

Hey Guys, I'm glad someone asked this question. I though I was the only one that had no idea what that stupid hook was for. I too pulled on it and thought there was some secret compartment FORD hid there.

I got to tell ya, I figured you guys would be hitting me with a stick after this one, but Im glad that I'm not the only one here that the dealer didn't explain what it for, Then again I didn't ask either.

I asked my dealer yesterday, and he said it was the saddest excuse for a trash bag holder he'd ever seen. Several states have a law requiring trash bags in the vehicles (Washington is one). Too bad they couldn't have done a better job! Mike

It IS supposed to be for hanging a trash bag on . Personally I keep all trash outta my truck .

I use it to hang my BOSS hand held "SMART TOUCH" V-Plow control on . Works great! .
