Factory speaker replacements...

I want to get some new speakers as the original ones are starting to be pretty beat. Does anyone know what size the stockers are and what replacement ones are best. I don't want to spend a lot of $, which is why I am sticking with the stock stereo. My truck is a 99 250 sd regular cab. Thanks. KP

they can be replaced with 5x7 or 6x8. if you want a good speaker at ok price i would look at kenwood or eclipse. if you want a great speaker i would look at jl audio. if you want cheap speakers that are better than stock i would look at audiovox or just get some from the dealer.

Thanks for your replies. Anyone know how many watts my cassette deck stereo puts out?? I don't want to buy more speaker than I need. KP

I have kenwood 6879ie 6x8's in my taurus, and they sound great for $60/pair. Pretty much any aftermarket speaker will have a much higher RMS wattage than what your stock HU puts out. If you plan on ever upgrading your HU, I would get a decent set of speakers.
