Shotgun Bowling

I just saw a clip on TV about shotgun bowling. It looks like a lot of fun. It is just like bowling, except you shoot at the pins from 50 yards away. I might just have to start a league like that in my area.

WOW! What's the recoil like shooting a nine pounder out the muzzel of a shotgun that big?

Please not more shooting stories, We live close to the I270 South area in Metro Coluimbus Ohio so somebody shooting at anything off the wall is not cool right now.

"Bowling pin" matches go way back.

In fact it is a distinct discipline with pistol modifications designed expressly for the . . venue.

I believe it was Richard Davis of Second Chance, Inc. that originally popularized the sport.

FWIW.

Spoken like a man that has never shot sporting clays with a hand gun.

Actually I found handgun a touch easier, did not say accounted for any more hits just a bit easier.
Both are a blast, and difficult for me, don’t know about anyone else…………

Definitely the most technically difficult shooting sport I have participated in (where no one shot back), Tim.

Anyone tells you that they "do very well" at it you need to run far far away from them (#1- they are lying #2- if they aren't lying, they are dangerous).

I shoot a mid to upper National "B" class with IPSC, and I'll hit on two out of five shots . . if I'm having an "on" day (and you ~never~ get that many oppurtunitys at a single pidgeon).

Bowling pins are a lot slower moving but still amazingly difficult to knock cleanly off a sheet of plywood.

. . Metric Tons of fun to try, though !!

IMHO.
