That JAG kills me sometimes!
The Scene cuts to the Captian explaining to the JAG folks that they are going to do a 5" shoot at a target sled. Everythings fine so far. Now the we cut to what is suposedly the loader room of the forward mount and we see a few GM's hanging out in this HUGE space and ordering up a HE round. (Don't normally use HE for a sled, but it's possible).
Next we see the sailor at the Gun Fire Control Console in CIC. This console looks nothing like the consoles on a cruiser. Next they fire a SINGLE round and score a direct hit (like that ever happens) and the target looks like a fireworks display.
Next we see the sailor who fired the gun and her command ball cap says USS Montana, CGN 47. This is what I really have a heartache with. Don't they have advisers to watch this sort of thing? First of all, we are supposed to be on the Lake Champlain, not the Montana. Second of all, the last CGN (nuclear powered cruiser) was decomissioned a LONG time ago.
Ahhhhhh!. SOMEBODY on that set must have been ex-Navy. Where were they when this scene was put together!!!
Thanks for the lesson in naval weaponry and tactics jrs big. Alot of TV shows are like that, like when the car starts knocking and spittering and sputtering then breaks down and it turns out to be a broken radiator.... never a thrown rod or a spun bearing or busted power valve...
