what would be louder/sound the best on a ford with a 350 in it, 18 in. glasspacks, 10 in. glasspacks, staight pipes, or one chamber flowmasters? if you know please tell me i would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Frogboy
first of all, fords version of the 350 is the 351, and to answer your question, straight pipes should be loudest, there is no restrictions with straight pipes as the other options are mufflers.
if you want the "best" sound, thats hard to say, everyone has different tastes in exhaust sound. i like a crackly aggressive sound, but not overly loud. which is why im going with true duals and 18" glasspacks and 2.5" diameter pipe.
i got straight pipes on my 94 f150 with 351. i just cut the muffler off and kept the cats. its sounds really good and was cheap. its loud but just as loud as the dodge setups.
I would go with Flowmasters because they have a nice tone, are fairly loud, and give you less backpressure than even straight pipes because of the way the baffels are set up. (less pressure=better mileage) I'm planning on putting a set of 80 series on my 351M along with high flow cats and an H-pipe.
we used 3" ran with no cats or mufflers, coming out both sides an split the tips of so i have 4, 5" tips coming out side in front of the back tires. ITs the sweetest and loudest exhaust ive heard on a truck yet., my buddies here me from a mile away
