Is the choke staying open or is it closing enough to keep the fast idle cam engaged?
You may need an extra return spring to make sure it closes. Do you have one besides the one made on to the cable?
Does it return to idle speed if you unhook the cable? You may need to bent the cable bracket forward a little bit if it is holding the throttle open a bit.

well its one thing after another, it was the throttle spring, so i put on a helper spring, that works great
when i hit the gas it would almost flood itself out, i adjusted the float and now i dont have that problem, when i was done with all that i was packing the truck up when i noticed alot of gas that came out of the tail pipes.
i was going to try to adjust the mixture screws, when i read the instructions that the holley carb came with and they said to hook a meter to the vacuum line and adjust the screws till i find the highest vacuum reading, is that meter necessary? and if i use the meter and i find the highest reading and gas is still dumping out the back, what do i do?

There should be no raw fuel coming out of the pipes. Are you sure that it isn't just dirty water from when it was flooding and the condensation is washing the carbon out of the pipes?
