Hey there,
My new DUI distributor should be here any day now and I just realized I need to buy new plug wires. Anybody have wires that you'd recommend? I'm not racing or anything. Just my daily driver. Brand new 390: balanced, plate bored, hypereutectic 9.5 pistons, crane 901, D2TE heads, windage tray, performer, 625 carter, headers. I've paid good money and got good wires and bad wires in the past. I've had ones no matter what you do the ends pull off and some that are magnets for dirt and I have to take them off and scrub them every month. Anybody bought wires lately and happy with them?
I'm a big fan of the MSD line of ignition. I have 2 sets of their wires and have found them to be durable(about 12 yrs. on Heli-core wires on my F100) and good looking. Headers don't seem to bother them a bit. I am getting a set of the 8.5mm Super Conductor wires to replace the old set when I install the big cap and rotor.
I use Accel 8mm wires
I love them
Plus I got them for a 400 so they fit the 390 quite well, and I got them blue so they matched my motor
But I run a good MSD Blaster 3 coil, a new duraspark box, and a new dizzy, big cap, rotor
I ran it with stock setup and they were good for that also
I also run Autolite 45 spark plugs

You did trim the windage tray to keep the dipstick from going in on top of it , didn't you? My favorite wires are the Ford Racing 9mm's They last forever. easy to clean if they get dirty. Just wipe em with a gas soaked wrag.
Yea I can see where trimming the pan for the stick would be unneccessary there. I've had threee of the windage trays and all three were used with front sum pans and after learning the hard way on the first, I checked the fit with the other two and both needed trimming for the dipstick.
