I thought in the US it was called : Soda
South of the Border (in Washington), it's also called "pop", perhaps due to the Canadian influence or a byproduct of NAFTA. But, I remember it being "pop" in the Midwest as well.

Having moved from Ohio to Maryland then back to Michigan- I'm bilingual.

Soda or Pop and if not sure of the local customs I call it soda pop.

I was jokingly referring to the fact that now that we have NAFTA, we are seeing more goods come across our borders and that perhaps our neighbors are trying to export "their" language as well as their goods.

Definately Coke, and like some other people said Pepsi if thats all avaliable. Sprite would be my second. There is too much sugar and caffeine in Mt. Dew especially Code Red.

I got you all beat, Coke because it's all I can find around here (won't drink pepsi, they are the largest financial sponser of gun control) But when I can find it Jolt is my choice. More caffine than 2 cups of coffee, more sugar than 3 2 liter bottles of dew.
