POP is NOT a yankee thing.
I was born and raised in New England, and everyone there calls it soda.

Barley pop.......oh, wait, that's not a choice.

If I had to pick, I'd say other-Orange Crush or Barq's Root beer.

Favorite drink is ice water with a shot of lemon or lime juice. I use about a quart of juice a week. I don't drink soft drinks at all.

I think "pop" is a Midwest-Canada thing. I know around here, some people from out of state opened up a little party store, and advertise "soda." I want to go in there and yell "It's pop, It always was pop, and it ALWAYS WILL BE POP!" Oh yeah, I just drink water now. I got away from the pop, and now I can't drink it at all, tastes awful to me.

What's pop? Down here in Texas we drink coke. If you want something it's gonna be from the "coke machine" not matter what kind of machine it is. Is that how all Texans are?

I heard it a lot in Michigan when I visited.
"You wanna pop?"
(I duck, thinking I'm about to get rabbit-punched)

80% is an understatement. It costs them a couple of cents a cup to have. Some places fountain pop is worse then others.

I'll drink coke or pepsi I never really cared which they taste about the same to me, but I prefer cream soda or root beer and if not those than dr pepper. But I usually drink iced coffee, french roast (full city roast) extra strong and black. No portion of a spoon or straw stuck into it may be visable below the surface or its tea. The sludge on the bottom is great and for the summer I freeze it in ice cubes so I can have Ice in my coffee without diluting it.
