Replacing Front Brake Rotors!!

Hi guys, I will be replacing the front brake rotors and pads on my 1990 Bronco this weekend. I just have a few questions first.

When I disassemble the Hub... what kind of grease do i need to re-pack it with? How do I know how much grease to put??

Next.. is it really that hard (meaning should I take a picture) to remember how to put those darn Manual hubs back together?? Does anyone know of a sight with specific directions??

Thanks in Advance for all the help!!

Hey guys....One more quick question.

I can get a new set of rotors for my truck pretty cheap. The thing is they DO NOT come with bolt studs ( the studs that let you bolt the wheel on)!!!

Is this a problem. Meaning are the bolt studs on the trucks spindle or are they welded to the back of the rotor. Again.. I apprecite the help!!

the manual locking hubs are easy, and if all else fails only do one side at a time, that way you have a guide.

The studs are just pressed into the rotor get a hammer and pound them out, then you can pound them back in, no need for new ones

I always lay out some newspaper when I take my hubs apart, laying each part out in order of which it came out. Granted by now I have it memorized, but I still do it.

Check with autozone...I got a set of replacement rotors/hub assembly for 70 each side. They had the studs already on em. As for the grease, you dont want pack alot on the hub area. A good axel grease will work for the bearings and pack the hell out of them. Lots of friction there. But in and around the hub parts themselves, you only want enough to ensure that the parts are greased up. Too much grease will not allow the parts to move and then you wont be able to actually lock in your hubs or unlock them.

Yep you will need what is called a "spanner wrench". Its nothing more than a funky looking socket with 4 tabs sticking out of the edge, and round instead of shaped like a bolt. About 12 bucks from the part store

one word of caution. Be very very very careful when threading the spindle nuts back on. The threads are very fine and can become re-threaded so to speak, making it imposible to use...leading to having to buy new spindles! Not that I have done that before or anything.....
