Irony

"If you cannot behave like an adult, you don't belong in Pig Pen!" Webmaster

Now,I find that ironic, don't you?

I do, however, agree to abide by the sentiment. If I ran the site, I'd allow a little more slack in a forum called "Pig Pen", but that's just me.

I think they're just tellin us to attack each others positions, not each other.

I know sometimes in the heat of argument I sometimes say things I shouldn't, I usually edit it before submission, but sometimes I slip. I think they just want to keep the mud to a level where us pigs don't drown in it.

It's exactly what we're asking you to do....the site regardless of what forum your in does have its rating to uphold, and just because you're in the pig pen doesn't mean your language has to go down the drain......Thanks for behaving guys

No problem, Ryan. I applaud the effort. I, occasionally drop in to other automotive forums that aren't nearly as civil and I find myself spending more time here instead. We are adults and should be able to debate without getting personal or crude.

Re: Irony

It's all about RESPECT. If you give it, you'll get it. I never have a problem with a differing opinion, as long as it's presented in a civilized, respectful, non-confrontational manner.

When one enters a pig pen, does not one expect to get a little mud on themselves? If you know you are going to get some, does it matter if it's self applied or not?

I enjoy reading the posts and hearing other's point's of view. However I have a problem with people "bashing" others. I is usually a sign of ignorance and totally discounts thier opinion.

Ryan,
I appreciate the civil approach FTE has. This is why I stay reading and posting. Don't get me wrong - I enjoy a good debate! However one can debate in a civilized and respectful manner. Keep up the good work!

You know, cussing and being uncivil in a forum is like comedy. It works in the short term, but people won't tend to go back.
Look at Bill Cosby, he can have you rolling on the floor even if you have heard the story 20 times. Take someone like Diceman (is that who he was?) He is gone.
Eddie Murphy maintained staying power by cleaning up his act.

So, do you want to be petty and a flash in the pan or a respected debating partner. I think most here choose the later. Which is why this site is so good.

Were you referring to Andrew "Dice" Clay? And I agree with you.
