true duals
well this afternoon i went into one of the local muffler shops and talked to them about a few different setups. it sounds like ill be going with true duals-no cats- with 18" glasspacks and 2.5" pipes. itll cost just short of 200bucks. im setting up an appointment in about 2 weeks when im not so busy with work to have it done and after i get some money for christmas. and i cant wait.
just thought id share this with y'all. if any of ya have the same setup feel free to share your thoughts with me, although i am pretty much set in what i want.

I didn't know muffler shops put on exhaust systems without cats on them. I always thought they wouldn't touch it unless you told them to put a cat on.

FWIW
Here in AZ, if the vehicle is older than 1966 (according to the AZ dot website), smog checks are no longer require to gegister the vehicle.

i officially have true dual exhaust with no cats and 2 18" glasspacks as of yesterday and i love it. i stood there in the shop with the guy the whole time he did it. when he finished up i started my truck and i said damn is this my truck? it has a nice aggressive sound and it really crackles when i rev it up. its not LOUD but plenty loud enough for me to get me in trouble. im going to get some pics of it in the morning and ill put em in my gallery so y'all can see.

Rebel, what does it sound like at cruising speed? Is it loud enough to get u pulled over just cruising around or not? Reason why i ask is im wanting that same set up on my 302, and was just wondering about all of that. Also do u have any tips or what?

it quiets down when you let off the throttle. you can still hear it but it quiet enough that i dont think any cops will bother you.
its mostly just loud when you rev it up or floor it. and no i dont have tips. heres a pic from my gallery -

I am fixing to get true duals and packs for my 1990 f150 also. I remember when we were teenagers and had glass packs. We would get in my dads old ford with the 352 and 3 on tha tree and wind it up in first or second and ket off and get that backdrag. That was great stuff!!! firebolt/1990 f150 302

At which muffler shop did you have this done? Also does the 200 bucks include the labor for the installition of everything? Im going to true duals and need some advice...about the muffler shop was it like midas, or a chain muffler shop?
