I thimk Canada should be part of texas. Texas has just as many Hookers and Hypocrits as Canada does. Santa Ana (La Parte) was actually a Frenchman that accidentially learned Texmex instead of French because you can't translate laTamala into Anybody got any Damn Tamala's" 'round this flea bag joint". Besides , Santa Ana didn't like cold weather so he went south for the Summa and never came back. I think he was born in Montreal but I'm not sure. Besides , the Mexican Army was the First Army to utilize Affirmitive Action in its recruitment literature as it would accept just about anybody from anywhere, even a Frenchman who talked like a Mexican. I'm getting myself cornfused so I had better stop the History lesson for now!!! , Cheers , s.kuteman

In a post that is sadly typical, you have insulted our friends to the north. Let me pass on a few facts I read just today:
We share the largest undefended border in the world; On 9-11, Canada opened its airspace to hundreds of flights bound for the U.S. and Canadian families sheltered thousands of stranded passengers: Canada (with a population smaller than the state of California) sent thousands of troops to Afghanistan and has already donated over $225 million to the Iraq rebuilding effort; Canada entered WW1 in 1914 ( we entered in 1917); Canada defended freedom against Hitler in 1939 (We joined in 1941).

Canada has proven itself a good neighbor and ally countless times, but they are not vassals of the U.S. deserving of scorn for making independent decisions. Let us treat our proven friends with the respect they deserve, we don't have that many left.

Here's a hypothetical question for the group. If your best friend sucker punches you, how long before you're best friends again?

saying that, if i had to move anywhere outside the us...canada would be my second choice right after the bahamas.....ok...maybe it would come before the bahamas...
I like Canada. I've always found the people to be genuinely nice. I have no quarrel with most of them. I don't particularly like their gov't, but that's OK, I'm sure that many of them don't like mine. If I had to live somewhere other than the US, Canada would be on my short list. If it wasn't normally colder than I'd like, it's be at the top of my list.

I appreciate your position in all of this... but what I wrote hardly constitutes "insult," particularly given the remarks I, and others. reply to from our friends to the north.

Many Non-Americans here seem FAR more concerned about the United States then they are their OWN country. Perhaps, if they spent as much time trying to stop their own train wreck instead of focusing so much time and energy busting our chops here, Canada would be a far better place to live.

I wrote the truth. An unpleasant truth, to be sure, but the truth, nevertheless. And if the truth constitutes "insult" here, let me know, and I'll leave you folks to talk about whatever else besides the truth you would care to discuss.

When you go about criticizing another country, the "In Your Face" style of debate will always come back to bite you in the butt.

Instead of the direct confrontation, it's quite possible to present your point of view in a polite manner.

For example, you could have done a quick search and produced something like this:

This country was not a coalition partner. What we did was scold from the sidelines, ridicule and belittle the Bush administration, condemn the invasion, and shrug off regime atrocities as the usual albeit regrettable stuff of tyranny. We were, and remain, sanctimonious, preachy and smug.

Notice that this was written by a Canadian, as well as being printed in a Canadian news paper. Instead of people jumping down your throat, let them pounce on a Canadian for presenting that opinion.

I for one feel that all those that are providing debt relief now, are the same countries that did not want to go in in the first place. Iraq was a very fertile business ground for Russia, Germany and France, we may never know just how deep under the covers these countries were with ole Saddy......but I'll bet my left nut that it is further than they want you to know....now Canadians, well hell, I love Canadians.....any nation that calls the mosquito the National bird is ok in my book

Great link. It looks like the Toronto Star is no Liberal mouthpiece. There are a few stories expressing disgust with Canada's failure to stand up with its allies to the South.
