Check the anti-sway bar links on your truck. I have had a few sleeves in my links come loose and cause the entire link to come loose and make a popping sound like you describe.
Does it only pop when you have the steering turned as far as it will go?
If so, stick a dab of grease on each of the steering stops on the steering knuckle and try it again.
It should have control arms like a 2 wheel drive. The center section is mounted solid and uses CV type joints on the axles. Chack the ball joints and tierod ends.

I had a popping noise in my 2001 supercrew. The dealer said it was due to the slip yoke in the drive line. He cleaned and greased it and it stopped for a few days. He also cleaned my wallet of $100. May want to check it out and maybe grease it yourself.
Well, it doesnt sound like a driveline issue.......he didnt mention anything like it happens more frequently as the vehicle's speed increases. And actually....$100 isnt bad to grease the u-joints and yoke (if that's what he did).
If I turn in a tight circle it won't pop at all unless I go into a driveway or on some kind of incline. I also notice it more when I am turning right. I have a 12" suspension lift on the truck with 10" lifted springs and 2" blocks. I never had the problem before it was lifted. Does this sound more like shifting springs or a driveline problem?
I have Febtech 3.5" lift spindles on my '97 F-150 and used to get the same popping noise until I sprayed some Supertech White Grease on the ball joints. It's a 2wd though. The guy who aligned the front end swears it's a body movement noise.
