2001 F350 Lariat Security
How many times have you heard someones alarm system malfunctioning, did you pay any attention to it? When I lived in the LA area I saw a cop driving through a Ralphs parking lot, someones alarm was going off and the cop didn't even pay attention to it. How about in the spring with the heavy winds, that usually sets off at least one alarm system in the neighborhood. LO-Jack will follow your car so they can get it back, but they still got it didn't they. In the above article someone spoke of a battery that cuts out, these type of systems are by far the best. What you want is a system that renders they vehicle useless to the theif. Maseratti in the sixties had two keys, if you only got one of them going the car would go about 200 feet and die. Living where I do now we don't have these problems but if I wanted to protect my vehicle from theft I would get some kind of system installed that makes the vehicle useless to a theif. I once thought of putting a hydralic break switch in, much like the ones on forklifts that lock the breaks unless you switch it to unlock. Theifs may get it started but it sure as hell is'nt going anywhere. There are systems like this available, I'de look into it if I were you. Good luck, maybe next time a twelve gauge for the puke!
