Check this out, I have 3 separite mid 80s Motorcraft 2150 feedback carbs. One carb won't idle, but gives me more power, another one idles but floods out if I let it idle to long, and the 3rd one idles fine but does'nt have much power. The truck is a 1985 bronco II 2.8L Eddie Bauer that has no emissions equipment on it. Even the tube from the catalitic convertor that feeds those 1-way valves by the air pump is pinched off. Would the absence off the emmision equipment make it run different with each one of the carbs? With all the problems I've had with it I'm thinking 3 2150 carbs in a metal fish net will be a good anchor for my boat!
All carbs accumulate dust and fuel residue with use, and those contaminants can cause faulty operation. Eventually they need to be disassembled, cleaned thoroughly, and then re-assembled with new gaskets and other components.
P.S. The carbs aren't heavy enough to make a good boat anchor, not even 3 of them.
Yes Bubbaf250 I've rebuilt 2 of them but I have'nt checked the O2 senser or the codes. I do have about a half of a chiltons manual left but not the pages I need to check this stuff. Any help on checking these things would be great.
